Cinnamon and Blueberry Oats

I threw away my packs of Instant Oats after I mentioned here, how instant oats have a higher glycemic load than Steel cut or Rolled Oats, and how the Instant Oats although delicious with all that added sugar-really aren't that good for you.  


I've had a packet of rolled oats in the cupboard for a while now, but never got around to cooking them before as I thought they:

1. Involved quite a lot of effort.
2. Would be very bland.

Not so.  

I whipped up this breakfast for us in about 15 minutes and it was delicious.  

Cinnamon and Blueberry Porridge:
For 2 People.

Place

1 Cup of Rolled Oats
2 Cups of Cold Water
1/4 tsp of Cinnamon
A pinch of Salt

in a saucepan and stir for 3 to 4 few minutes,  and then allow to simmer for a few minutes until oats are cooked

Serve in a bowl, put 2 tablespoons of plain yoghurt on top with a handful of blueberries and honey to taste.

I added this Honey that I bought in the Cotswolds a few weeks ago.
