South African Home

Tuesday, November 25

On Friday I left grey and rainy London for a 6 week trip to South Africa.

My flight from Heathrow to Johannesburg was AWFUL as I sat next to the fattest man ever.  You know when you are looking for your seat, and can see someone who is spilling over his into the adjacent one and you just hope hope hope that your seat number doesn't correlate with the half a seat that he has a left available...and then it is a match. That was me. He then lectured me for 20 minutes on why there is no hope left for South Africa as a country - which is my worst kind of talk - and then told me he was so dirty from 32 hours in transit that he was actually itching. Delightful.  And that was before he told me all about how he dresses his cats up...and then insisted I see the photo's.

I am SO glad that Pete and I are flying back together! Nothing better than sitting next to my husband on a long haul flight.

Anyway after my flight arrived an hour and a half late in Jhb, Jen fetched me and we went straight to her Wedding dress fitting! I can't wait for her Wedding on the 20th of Dec :)

And then I caught up with some of my favourite girls for brunch (and Ken's lovely man), which was wonderful! Ah I miss my Jhb girls...

And then I ALMOST missed my domestic flight to Durban in the afternoon as we got stuck in traffic driving back to the airport which wouldn't have been the end of the world until I called  BA and they said if I missed the domestic leg of my flight I would also lose my return to London at the end of December! Oh my goodness - after Jen did some dodgy turns and flew down another highway I made it with seconds to spare! Such a relief!

And now I'm back on my Parents farm!

How Amazing is my Mum's garden looking in the pictures above! Not one of these pictures is even edited...

I hope that you are having a happy week so far!

A Beautiful Brunch

Monday, November 3

On Saturday morning I went to the most wonderful Blogger girls catch up.  It was hosted by Teri from The Lovely Drawer, who really is LOVELY!

I hadn't met her before but was fortunate enough to be invited to the get together through some other bloggers that I know.

Other than how absolutely gorgeous the table looked (as you can see in the pictures above), Teri also provided us with an absolute feast! She casually pulled off a brunch for 12 people in her pretty flat, and made it all look absolutely effortless.  Which it really can't have been!

Thank you Teri!

You really need to look at her Blog and Shop for more of her fabulous style and products!

I have been totally uninspired recently in this space of mine on the Internet (in case you hadn't noticed) and catching up with so many inspirational creative ladies on Saturday morning was just what I needed.

I was thinking this morning how tough this year really has been emotionally.  The Universe has dealt my Family a really horrible hand and whilst I try to be all 'yogi-like' and grow and learn from all that has and is happening, I'm really struggling with it.

I wear my heart completely on my sleeve and when I'm feeling unsure and saddened by where things are at, I struggle to be inspired, motivated and creative in this space.

With so much going on for everyone in the world, I seek for this site to be motivational, informative and uplifting, and I unfortunately I really struggle with creating content when I'm not feeling on top of things myself.

So THANK YOU for your Patience!

I so appreciate you coming here and love hearing from you.

Today however, I am delighted to shared these pretty photo's and introduce you to Teri!

Have a Happy Monday my friends!
